Sonic Shield’s Resource Center White Papers

Sonic-Shield’s engineers have published a variety of white papers
White Paper

Sonic-Shield believes that an educated customer will be our best and most loyal customer. Sonic-Shield’s soundproofing resource center is populated with a variety of data, information and intelligence to help reinforce our mantra of “Soundproofing Made Simple.”

HOLD THE PRESSES!!!!!! What is simple about the following white papers????????

With “white papers” about topics like:

  • Prediction of Force and Acceleration Control Spectra for Space Shuttle Orbiter Sidewall-Mounted Payloads
  • Finite Element Prediction of Vibro-acoustic Environments
  • Efficient Implementation of Random Pressure Fields with the Finite Element Method
  • Vibration Test Procedures for Orbiter Sidewall-Mounted Payloads

You might ask yourself- what does this have to do with my noise problem? Probably nothing!!!!!!

Here is where our “Soundproofing Made Simple” mantra goes astray. We know that many visitors to our website are industry professionals, engineers, acousticians, audiophiles and architects. Some of the content in our soundproofing resource center is provided for their edification and benefit.

While we highly recommend that the normal consumer read “Fundamentals of Sound and Hearing” as it is a great introductory piece that explains exactly what it refers to………………..fundamentals, we also have a responsibility to be a resource for more advanced topics, hence the “White Papers” section of our soundproofing resource center. We are trying to have a little fun at our own expense by poking fun at one of our most accomplished and most frequently published engineers by providing some of his content for your benefit.

We have tried to acknowledge the industry sources for all of our soundproofing resource center content. We appreciate all of their efforts over the years to help make the science of noise, acoustics and soundproofing easier to understand for everyone. If you have white papers that you feel are pertinent to soundproofing, acoustics, noise, noise pollution, health effects of noise on the human auditory system, or other topics, please fill out a contact form so we can review your content with you and hopefully, include it as part of our resource center library.

Our resource center is a work in progress and we will add white papers to it constantly. Please check back often. If you would like to be notified whenever new white papers are added, you can also fill out our contact form in the left hand margin of this page.

We appreciate your visit to our Soundproofing Resource Center and hope that we have delivered on the promise inherent in our motto: Soundproofing Made Simple. (even though these white papers are some pretty serious content!)

The link below to the NASA Handbook for Dynamic Environmental Criteria is something we are very proud of. Research completed by one of Sonic-Shield’s founders is referenced throughout the NASA document and we are justifiably proud, not only of his intellect, but of his contribution to one our country’s most important programs.
