When Porto Restaurant opened co-owner Sean Griffing knew he had a problem to solve. The patrons loved the Mediterranean seafood, but the noise feedback was overwhelming. To reduce the noise throughout the dining areas, Sean contacted a local company and together, they drafted a plan. The project came to a halt after the first phase however, when the 1" acoustical product failed to deliver even the slightest reduction of noise.
Frustrated and skeptical, Sean finally found Sonic-Shield’s parent company New England Soundproofing. We recommended using the REVRB® Acoustical Line, all of which carry a high noise reduction (NRC) rating, fire and smoke ratings, and are completely customizable. Sean then did a little research of his own, speaking with several Boston restaurateurs who had implemented REVRB® Acoustics. He was hard-pressed to find a dissatisfied client. Sean gave the go-ahead.
The results were stunning. From the subtle wall panels to the uniquely inserted panels in the ceiling treatment, the restaurant décor was enhanced while the sound was absorbed. Sean was as thrilled with the outcome as he was quick to admit that he wished he’d found REVRB® before he wasted time and resources on an ineffective product from an "expensive big box name acoustical company." Now his customers rave about the food, not the noise.
