Carrie Nation is a true Boston Brahmin speakeasy style bar. The location in the heart of the city made it a favorite of businessmen and college students alike, but it also meant fighting outside city noise. Additionally, the acoustical properties of the small space were seriously lacking due to hardwood floors; low, tin tray ceilings; wooden beams; and two solid walls of windows and mirrors. The bar area was particularly susceptible to deafening background noise.
When the noise complaints started pouring in, management knew the issue had to be addressed, but they also knew they didn’t want visible soundproofing materials interfering with their carefully-crafted décor. Their first step was to call Sonic-Shield’s parent company New England Soundproofing. We designed and installed REVRB™ Acoustical Panels, framed with elegant crown molding on the ceiling around the bar and in the dining room, so as not to detract from the speakeasy style. The results are a seamlessly polished finish, with a management that continuously receives only wonderful feedback from happy employees and customers.
